LimitFix

Video compressor that hits your exact size

Most compressors ask you to pick bitrates and codecs, then hope the result is small enough. LimitFix starts from the size you need and works backwards, so the file always fits.

Where are you sending it?

Compressed on your device. Your video isn't uploaded.

How it works

LimitFix reads your video's length and resolution, works out how many bits per second the target size allows, and gives audio a fair share. It then picks the largest resolution that bitrate can render cleanly and encodes the video.

If the result comes out even slightly over, it encodes again at a lower bitrate. You only get a file once it actually fits.

What happens to your data

Compression runs on your device using WebAssembly, so your video isn't uploaded. We also strip metadata such as GPS location from the output, which is a good idea before sharing any video publicly.

Questions people ask

Which formats can I compress?

MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI and MKV. The output is an MP4 (H.264 + AAC), which plays everywhere.

Is there a size limit?

500 MB per video on the free plan and 2 GB with Pro.

Will the video still look good?

LimitFix picks the highest resolution the size budget can render cleanly instead of keeping full resolution and smearing everything. Short clips usually stay in 1080p or 720p; long videos drop to a lower resolution so they stay sharp rather than blocky.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. LimitFix compresses the video inside your browser, on your own device, so the file isn't uploaded to us or anyone else. The only exception is the optional cloud processing for Pro users, which you have to choose explicitly; those files are deleted automatically after processing.
